The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is a nonprofit organization established for the purpose of developing philanthropic funds for our community’s benefit. Distributions from these funds will be used to address issues of concern that affect our quality of life…today and for years to come.
Funds are established or bequeathed by individuals and families similar to yours. Funds can also come from other Foundations, nonprofit organizations and corporations. All funds are component funds of the Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3), and thus provide maximum public charity advantages for donors. Funds are pooled and managed by a team of investment professionals.
Your gift, regardless of the amount, will have a positive impact on our community. The Community Foundation offers a variety of simple, flexible, and effective options for those who wish to provide financial support to our community through philanthropy.

Our Foundation Gains National Certification

We are happy to announce that The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County has received confirmation of compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations. The National S  tandards Seal by our name indicates official confirmation from the Council on Foundations that we have met the most rigorous standards in philanthropy. It affirms our commitment to financial security, transparency and accountability.
Those who give through The Community Foundation generously choose to improve the lives of others. Given your unique history, life experiences and personal interests, your favorite causes may be unlike those of any other person.
